This is a chance to purchase a hard to find homologation special, the Mercedes 190e 2.5-16v Cosworth, in a fantastic colour and good condition all around. This car is no show queen but is perfectly suited to be driven how it was intended to, and provides huge fun with just the right amount of power from its Cosworth designed engine. These cars are becoming hard to find in good condition and this car is well priced against competitors, with a fresh MOT and recent expenditure to make sure the car is in great condition all around. Unfortunately the car is missing its original book pack but that isn’t so uncommon for a modern classic car, and there is still other paperwork that comes with the car, such as bills for nearly £9,000 spent on bodywork just a couple of years ago by the previous owner.
The car can be slightly temperamental when cold (which isn’t uncommon for this engine) but after that drives just as it should and provides a smooth ride and great handling. The car provides plenty of power and stops just as it should too. The dog-leg manual gearbox takes some adjustment but once you’ve driven the car a little it feels completely natural and provides a better driving experience than it would otherwise.
The interior is in good condition with minimal wear and is perfectly comfortable to spend time in on longer journeys. The steering wheel does show wear but could be re-covered by a specialist, and there is a crack to the centre of the steering wheel also.
